But God . . .

BY JESSICA LANDMON

Don't you just love it when words are spoken, and they speak directly to your heart? I was fortunate enough to have a conversation with a friend just last week where that is exactly what happened. We were chatting about a situation that I recently went through, and her only response to me was "but God."

Now I know that some of you might be thinking that those words don’t sound super spiritual or even noteworthy. But, let me tell you that those words resonated deep in my soul. She spoke them with such power and encouragement.

What we need to realize is that no matter what circumstance life throws at us, God has the final word. We can list all the impossibilities of the situation and dwell on each and every negative aspect, or we can recognize that the Creator of the universe has another move He can make. The best part is that He doesn't need to play by the rules of the universe that limit us. His power knows no boundaries.

I know some of you are sitting there reading this blog with broken hearts and downcast spirits. But, I am here to tell you but God. You may be struggling with physical or mental health issues, but God can heal them both. You may have no job, no money in you bank account, and are about to lose your house, but God can find a way where there is no way. Your marriage may seem dead, but God will breathe life back into it. You may have been betrayed, attacked, and beaten down, but God will bring restoration.

Ladies, stop limiting the capacity to which God can move on your behalf based on natural solutions. We serve a supernatural God. Start looking at His promises. Memorize them. Claim them over your life and your situation. The next time you feel defeated, and the enemy whispers lies of hopelessness is your ear, simply respond back, oh . . . but God!

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. – Romans 15:13
